This is a sponsored post from Jewel, a luxury brand cashback site. All opinions are my own.

I like nice things. Especially when I’m buying them at a steep discount.

That’s often easier said than done. However, there are many little-known hacks to save big.

If you want to know how to get designer clothes for a discount, here are my 5 favorite tips.

How to Get Designer Clothes for Less Online

# 1 – Use Jewel to Maximize Cash Back

The easiest thing you can do when it comes to buying discount designer clothes is to use a cash back site.

I say easiest because it takes only seconds to save big.

While there’s a lot of cash back sites, there’s only one that specializes in luxury clothing.

That site is Jewel.

With Jewel, you can get up to 15% cash back on purchases made online from luxury brands.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Sign up here for free (and get a free $5 deposited into account)
  2. Search for your favorite luxury brands
  3. Click through to the website where you’ll earn cash back for your purchase

Here’s how it would look if I wanted to get cash back at Mountain Hardware:

Many of the brands Jewel has partnered with cannot be found on other cash back sites. Furthermore, as they specialize, they’re often able to negotiate the best cash back deal.

So, when it comes to luxury brands, Jewel is the way to go.

You’ll also be happy to know, they give you $5 for every friend you refer.

You can sign up here.

# 2 – Setup a Google Alert

For my favorite brands, I set up a Google Alert that sends an email anytime there’s a great deal.

The trick is to setup the alerts on only the best message boards and deal sites.

For example, say I wanted to buy my wife something from Tory Burch.

I’ll setup a Google Alert that says:

Tory Burch Google Alert

Doing so sends me an email anytime there’s a mention of Tory Burch on slickdeals.net, the world’s largest deal site and message board.

Deals on this site get upvoted depending on the quality, so I know right away if it’s one worth pursuing.

Once I find a great deal, I can start my search at Jewel to maximize my savings.

# 3 – Load Up On Black Friday or Other Sales

Luxury brands don’t discount as much as typical brands. So, when they do, take advantage of it.

I’ve found the best time to find a great deal is Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

If there’s something I’m looking to buy, I put it on a Black Friday List I have stored in Evernote. I’ll then look for the best deals for what I’m looking to buy during this time.

# 4 – Creatively Finance Any Purchases

When it comes to more extravagant purchases, I prefer to “creatively finance” them.

In other words, instead of budgeting for luxury clothing, I find a way to earn money to pay for it outside of my primary source of income.

This may include:

  • Selling stuff on sites like Ebay and Craigslist and using the proceeds to pay for the clothing
  • Using excess credit card points to purchase a gift card
  • Asking for gift cards as a gift from friends and family

# 5 – Shop the Offseason

Luxury brands tend to have sitewide deals during the Holiday season. In other words, all merchandise on the site is discounted in some way.

For the remainder of the year, the best deals can be found on out of season clothing.

Be proactive and plan your spending around the off-season. Summer clothes, buy in the fall. Winter clothes, buy in the spring.

Summary: How to Get Designer Clothes for Less Online

I’ve always felt that there’s nothing wrong with wanting and purchasing nice things. Especially, when they last 10X as long which actually may save me money in the long-run.

But that doesn’t mean you have to overpay. Instead, use these 5-tips to save big.
